Program and Registration Information

The PPO Bengals is proud to offer what is widely regarded as the best tackle football program in South Florida.  Our program consists of conditioning training for the month of May, and practices and games beginning in July that continue through the middle of November. The flyer posted below gives more information with what is included with registration, and includes many items that only PPO provides to players making our program stand out from all the rest.

We will form 8 teams:  Mighty Mites, 7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, and 13U.     Age cutoff dates are May 1st for Mighty Mites through 12U, and Jan 1st for 13U (only).

We accepted children born between:

01/02/2007 through 04/30/2016.

Participants will require a physical before the first game.

PPO Bengals has shifted to a FULLY online registration process.  ALL REGISTRATION AND PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE ONLINE USING THIS WEBSITE.  Pembroke Pines Optimist Club NO LONGER accepts cash or registration forms submitted on paper.  Scroll down for detailed information.

Parents will need to submit proof of residency, to be collected by the team managers prior to participation. All players MUST be fully registered and paid prior to being able to participate.  Email registration questions to: PPOFOOTBALL@YAHOO.COM.

NO PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ALLOWED ONTO THE FIELD UNTIL THEY ARE FULLY REGISTERED AND FULLY PAID ON THIS WEBSITE.

FEES

The base registration fee is $250.    Scroll down this page to the flier to see what is included.

Out of City residents are subject to an additional fee of $95 imposed by the City of Pembroke Pines.

We do offer a multi child discount of $20, starting with the cost of the second player.

The website  accepts  all major credit cards as well as checks (for checks you will enter the routing number and account number online at checkout).

The site will also accept Visa or MasterCard gift cards (with a sufficient balance to cover).  Parents who normally prefer to use cash to pay for registrations may wish to purchase a gift card at any local merchant, and then use that card for registration on our site.  Please note, if you are using a pre-paid or gift credit card, you will need to pay in full at time of registration (pay plan will not be accepted).

Most registrations will allow for two choices:

Full payment at time of registration

or

Pay 1/2 of total at time of registration, and remaining half on May 20th.   The second payment will automatically be charged to the same source of payment you use for the first installment.   If for any reason the second payment is not able to be processed, your child will not be allowed to begin on-the-field activity until you have finalized the second payment via the website.

NO PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ALLOWED ONTO THE FIELD UNTIL THEY ARE FULLY REGISTERED AND FULLY PAID ON THIS WEBSITE.

REFUNDS

Refunds will only be issued if requested prior to July 9th, and will be subject to a $25 dropped player fee.   All refunds will be made online to the same source of payment as originally used when registering.   It is possible that coaches will cut some players off the team.  If this happens you will be refunded what you paid LESS a $25 tryout fee.

In the event May training is shortened or cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, no refunds or adjustments will be issued.  However, if the main part of the season that begins in early July is cancelled due to COVID-19, forcing us to shut down the entire program, we will issue you a full refund.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there will be changes to how our program operates on the field this season.

Realize as the year moves along, we HOPE for things to get better.  This is especially true for the bulk of our season, which starts after the July 4th Holiday.    It is POSSIBLE, but not GUARANTEED, some of the following COULD be relaxed as the season moves along.

However, the following WILL almost certainly be in effect for the training in MAY:

  • Do not bring your child to practice if he has any symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath, etc..), has been exposed to a known or suspected case, or has traveled out of the area in the past 14 days.
  • Only players and coaches will be allowed into the park during practice sessions.   Parents will not be allowed into the park and will remain in their cars.  Exceptions will ONLY be made for parents on teams 8U and younger, who will be allowed to watch from a distance.
  • Parents (and any other spectators) MUST wear facial coverings any time out of their vehicles in the park.  This includes in the parking lots.
  • All players will arrive and leave practice wearing facial coverings.
  • Players will not be allowed to share any equipment.
  • The water fountains and concession stand will likely be CLOSED.  Players will need to bring in their own water.  NO SHARING and no water bottles will be provided by the team.
  • Parents will ONLY interact with coaches via phone or text.  NO face to face interactions.
  • All bleachers in the park are closed.
  • We do expect parents to be able to view games, even if pandemic level remains the same, but restrictions will likely be in place limiting attendance levels.   In addition you will only be allowed to stay long enough to watch your own child's game.
  • Additional stipulations may be added at the direction of PPO, AYFL, City of Pembroke Pines, or other entities.  By registering parents agree to follow all COVID safety protocols for the duration of the season.
  • Parents who do not follow the rules will be asked to leave the program.  We will be using a direct to penalty (no warning) policy.   Ejected parents will be issued NO refunds.
